Point System from Constitution

ARTICLE IX. STATUS OF MEMBERS
A. Points or demerits will be used as a disciplinary tool.
B. Points will be given by the Coach. Points may be given for additional things, as the coach feels necessary.
C. Three points will be a warning
D. Six points will result in removal from a performance or a game.
E. Ten points will result in suspension for two weeks
F. Twelve points will result in dismissal from the team
G. If you are dismissed from the team for reasons other than academic eligibility, you will not be able to try out again for the Cheer Team.
H. One point will be given for:
a. Tardiness at any team event
b. Chewing gum while in practice or in uniform
c. Wearing jewelry to practice or in uniform.
d. Incomplete grade sheet
e. Not turning fundraisers when they are due.
f. Getting sent to “Sweep”
g. Inappropriate practice/performance uniform.
i. This would include any piece of the uniform. (Shoes, poms, ribbons etc.)
ii. This would also include inappropriate hair for practice or performance.
h. Inappropriate or wrong game day attire.
I. Three points will be given for:
a. Unexcused absence
b. Use of inappropriate language at practice ot while in uniform
c. Gossiping at practice or while in uniform
d. Student issued a referral or given ISS for any reason.
e. Public display of affection towards another person
f. Disrespect towards a Coach or team captain
g. Absence which would also result in removal from performance
h. No grade sheet or tutoring sheet
J. Six points will be issued for:
a. Missing a performance
b. Becoming ineligible during the season
c. Any behavior “unbecoming a school leader” as referred by your teaches. (cheating, behavior problems in class etc.)
d. Attendance at any “party” where there is illegal drugs/alcohol consumption.
K. The following violations will result in automatic dismissal:
a. Drinking alcohol
b. Drug use
c. Tobacco use
L. Suspension means not performing in any team function for two weeks
a. Unless instructed by the coach, suspended members must attend all practices and games and sit with the coach.
b. Upon resuming team activities, the member will become Alternate for one week and be ineligible to perform
c. After completion of the “Alternate’s Week” the member can resume regularly scheduled activities.
d. Twelve points, will result in dismissal from the team.
M. Any school detention or school imposed discipline will be frowned upon by the team
a. School detention, etc. will not be considered an excuse for missing team practice or scheduled activity. Tree points will be issued for such violation.
